TransLink – The Bay Area’s Transit Card
TransLink is currently being rolled out by Muni, BART and Caltrain.
Already accepted on all AC Transit and Dumbarton Express buses as well as
all Golden Gate Transit and Ferry routes,TransLink will eventually be
accepted on all Bay Area transit agencies.
For more information on using TransLink on any of these agencies, please visit
translink.org.
The reloadable TransLink card keeps track of its value and automatically deducts
the correct fare (including discounts and transfers) for every transit trip. The
card can hold different types of value, from monthly passes to multiple-ride tickets
to cash. You can get a card or add value online, on the phone, at dozens of retail
locations, at transit agency ticket offices or at transit stations. Or set your card
up for Autoload and it will reload automatically every time your balance gets low or
your pass expires. And if your card is ever lost or stolen, your card will be replaced
and your balance will be restored for a small fee as long as your card is registered.
To use TransLink, riders simply "tag" the TransLink card by touching it to the card readers
installed on buses or at the entrance to transit stations, and - in an instant - the system
automatically deducts the correct fare, including any appropriate discounts and transfers.
